Creator publishing tools
Small publishing details can make a video easier to navigate. Start with a chapter list that viewers can scan and reuse, then check timestamp order and duration before adding it to the description.

Write chapters around useful moments
Choose titles that explain what someone will find at that point in the video. A viewer returning to a tutorial may need the worked example, setup step or troubleshooting section. Descriptive titles help that task more than numbered labels. Supply timestamps from the actual edit; the chapter tool does not watch the video or generate titles from its contents.
Validate timing against the final export
YouTube’s documented manual chapter rules include a first timestamp at zero, at least three chapters in ascending order, and sections at least ten seconds long. Enter the video duration so the final chapter can be checked too. Recheck the list if you shorten the introduction or move a section, because an otherwise well-formed list can point to the wrong moment after an edit.
Verify the published experience
Copy the generated chapter text into the video description and inspect the published video. Platform eligibility and display behavior remain outside a local validator. If chapters do not appear, compare the list with current YouTube guidance before making further edits. For tracked links in a description, use the marketing tools to keep campaign names consistent and avoid exposing personal data.
Common questions
Can the tool create chapters from a video?
It formats and validates timestamps and titles you supply. It does not upload, transcribe or inspect video content. Review the final edit yourself before entering the times.
Why are syntactically valid chapters still not showing?
A local check covers the supported timestamp rules. YouTube controls eligibility and playback display. Review the published description and the current platform requirements.
