Prepare data for a CSV import

Flatten structured data, then review quoting and delimiters.

Use your own inputs and keep periods, units and cost assumptions consistent. The steps provide an order to work through; results do not transfer automatically between tools.

  1. Flatten nested JSON when needed

Use a small sanitized sample first. Choose whether arrays remain JSON or become joined text; keep large identifiers as strings. CSV input can skip this step.

  2. Choose the destination delimiter

Check the source separator and quoting, then export the delimiter your destination expects. Import identifiers as text and verify a few rows before processing the complete dataset.

  3. Map the destination columns

Select and rename source columns, arrange the receiving schema and inspect missing required values. Keep identifiers as strings and test the actual import.

  4. Attach a unique lookup when needed

Use an exact key to enrich records from a lookup with unique keys. Choose left or inner join deliberately and review unmatched downloads.

Common questions

Where do I start? Try an example, then replace its values with yours.

Why did my upload fail? Check the field error, accepted format and file-size limit. Start with a small sanitized sample.

Where are my results? Review the result panel, then use its copy or download controls. If a calculation fails, check the error beside the input.
